4.1 Supported Functions

MonetDB/XQuery supports a wide range of the built-in functions described in the W3C specifications. This section provides an overview is of functions that MonetDB/XQuery currently supports.

• Aggregation Functions: min,max, .. supported: 6/8 Missing ones are collation-specific.
• Numeric Functions: + -, .. supported: 18/20 No support yet of round-half-to-even,
• Boolean Functions: and, >, .. supported: 9/13 no deep-equal and binaryEqual yet.
• String Functions: substring, .. supported: 21/32 no collation-specific functions nor normalize-unicode and tokenize
• Node Functions: root, doc, put, .. supported: 19/24
• Sequence Functions: first, last, .. supported: 11/18
• QName Functions: node-name, resolve-QName, .. supported: 0/6
• URI Functions: base-uri, escape-uri, .. supported: 2/10
• Runtime Functions: error, trace .. supported: 2/5
• Date/Time Functions: date-equal, time-less-than, .. supported: 0/75

We encourage new Developers to volunteer and help fill in these blanks. Work has started on adding date/time functions but help is surely welcome.
