Get started with MonetDB/SQL
If you want to have a quick look at what MonetDB/SQL can do for you, try the examples provided here. They have been designed to provide an easy introduction into the capabilities of MonetDB and the SQL language. You don't need any a priori SQL knowledge to run them. (be careful though, avoid typing errors).
The Getting started is a must to read. It ensures the installation is working correctly. The VOC demo uses a simple textual interface to illustrate SQL on a somewhat larger database (6MB) and queries might produce larger amounts of (intermediate) data.
Third party graphical database utilities work flawlessly with the server and make your experience with MonetDB/SQL even better. The programming section demonstrates the basics of a web-service based on MonetDB, SQL and PHP.Note: The following examples assume that you have installed MonetDB/SQL on your computer.
