The database group at CWI is the gatekeeper of the MonetDB project. MonetDB is a by-product of its past 10 years of research activity in the field of database architecture, applied to a diverse collection of application areas (spanning OLAP, data mining, GIS, object-oriented databases, image and video databases, and XML querying). During this time, many people have been Contributors to MonetDB.

To justify our effort in maintaining and expanding MonetDB as a powerful solution for people around the world, we would appreciate if you joined a MonetDB mailing list (See Mail channels). Furthermore, we welcome wider distribution through re-packaging of the MonetDB technology, but would also like to learn where and how it is being used. It helps in prioritizing development and maintenance. Please, drop us a letter at monetdb-developers@lists.sourceforge.net with information you would like to share with the developers and/or the MonetDB community.
